Solid neighborhood spot with good bones and friendly staff.

Pony Birmingham sits right in the middle of the platform—a solid, unpretentious night out. Strong door service and parking make it easy to get in and comfortable while there; the room has real atmosphere and the crew treats you well. Dancers and pricing are average, not standout, but nothing feels cheap or rushed.

How this is scored
57/100

Easy parking and decent location, but tight on space and luxury.

The location and parking are genuine wins (both 7/10), and the atmosphere scores a respectable 6. It's not a luxury lounge—capacity is tight and privacy is modest—but the bones are good. It's a comfortable, accessible neighborhood room, not a destination venue.

Welcoming door and bar crew keep things smooth and safe.

Door and safety stand out (7/10 each); the bar crew is solid if not lightning-fast. Respect and cleanliness both hit 5-7, which means you'll be treated fairly and the place is clean. Speed and privacy lag a bit, but the overall vibe is welcoming and professional enough.

Skip the kitchen; drinks are fairly priced and well-made.

Food is genuinely weak (1/10 pricing, 4.2 quality)—skip it entirely. Drinks are the play: pricing is fair (6/10), and the bar knows what it's doing. No cigar or hookah scene to speak of. Come for drinks and the room, not the kitchen.

Decent talent pool, though interaction and hustle could be sharper.

Talent quality is middle-of-the-road (5/10), and interaction is the real soft spot (4/10). Dancers show up and do their job, but don't expect electric energy or top-tier hustle. Professionalism lags (3.4), so manage expectations—it's a fun night, not a high-octane show.

Decent spot after the rebrand Been coming here since the Sammy's days and the Pony renovation cleaned things up nicely. Parking is still super easy which is a big plus downtown. The no-contact thing is what it is due to Alabama laws, but don't expect much interaction with the dancers unless you're dropping serious cash in VIP.
50/100 SW score
Overpriced for what you get Stopped by during a work trip and paid $20 cover after 11pm. The place looks updated but feels pretty basic - not much sophistication compared to clubs in other cities. Dances were pricey for the limited contact allowed and VIP didn't seem worth the premium.
60/100 SW score
Not bad for a first visit Went with some buddies who said this place got better after becoming Pony. The outdoor smoking area was nice and we found parking right away. Staff seemed hit or miss - some were cool, others not so much.
